I’m on the board of directors for the Pride Law Fund, a group that raises money to fund advocacy projects for LGBT groups.
Pride Law Fund promotes the legal rights of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered community, and people living with HIV and AIDS, by funding legal services and projects and by sponsoring education and outreach. Pride Law Fund has been the fiscal agent for fledgling grass-roots, community based, non-profit organizations, assisted innovative academic programs, supported the development and distribution of legal and educational materials, and financed independent and documentary film projects to educate the public. Now in its twenty-sixth year, Pride Law Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit, charitable organization.
The PLF is volunteer run (no paid staff) and raises money through fundraisers, like the Pride Law Fund Annual Golf Tournament which is taking place this year in Berkeley, CA, on September 30. If you’re in the area and want to support the organization (and like golf or think you might want to give it a shot), please think about coming to the event!
